18. The joint constitutional commission was the body established by the London
and Zurich Agreements to draw up a draft constitution for the Republic of Cyprus

representative each of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot community and a
representative each for the Governments of Greece and Turkey together with a
legal adviser nominated by the Greek Foreign Minister and a legal advisor

fact that a very high proportion of income tax (some 67.52% of the total) was
paid by mining companies who continued to contribute. Turkish Cypriots accounted
for only 1.8% of revenue from income tax. See Table IV ‘Ethnic Shares in the

more difficult to collect income tax from Greek Cypriots.
